Start chopping to make some tasty sandwiches!

The Chopped Sandwich viral trend might sound silly to you but it's a wonderful way to get a taste of everything in each bite of your sandwich! It's also a great way to practice some chopping in the kitchen with the family. Get creative and get everyone to pick some delicious ingredients and create your own new version of a #choppedsandwich. Be sure to grab a video and post it, you just don't know if you're sandwich will be the next viral favourite! 


Chopped Italian Sandwich


Using flavourful ingredients makes this sandwich a hit and fun to make for the family.

Serves 4

 

4 large, assorted buns, sliced in half

1/4 cup (60 mL) Longo’s Balsamic salad dressing

1 pkg (225 g) Longo’s Curato Entertaining Mix

1 pkg (142 g) Longo’s Organic Spring Mix

1/2 cup (125 ml) Longo’s Mild Muffuletta Mix

 

Brush the insides of the buns with about 2 tbsp (30 mL) of the salad dressing and toast lightly on medium high grill, if desired; set aside.

 

Lay spring mix onto large cutting board and top with meat and cheese from package. Spoon muffuletta mix over top. Using a chef’s knife, start chopping up the ingredients.

 

Drizzle remaining salad dressing over top with a pinch of salt and pepper. Use knife to chop and mix up ingredients. Scoop filling into buns and serve.

 

Tip: Grilling the bun is optional. You can enjoy this sandwich without toasting the bun if desired.

Chopped Turkey Club Sandwich


A favourite sandwich is made fun and, in every bite there is a great combination of flavour.

Serves 4.

 

4 large soft sub buns, sliced in half

1/3 cup (75 mL) mayonnaise, divided

2 cups (500 mL) chopped lettuce

8 oz (250 g) sliced turkey

100 g sliced cheddar or Monterey jack

8 slices cooked bacon

2 tbsp (30 mL) balsamic dressing

 

Spread the insides of the buns with about 2 tbsp (30 mL) of the mayonnaise; set aside.

 

Lay lettuce onto large cutting board and top with turkey, cheese and bacon. Using a chef’s knife, start chopping up the ingredients.

 

Add remaining mayonnaise and drizzle salad dressing over top with a pinch of salt and pepper. Use knife to chop and mix up ingredients. Scoop filling into buns and serve.

 

Tip: Be sure to taste the filling and if you want to add more salad dressing or seasoning please do!
